Job Description

The UNC Charlotte Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications for one full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor position in the area of Environmental Engineering. This is a 9-month teaching position on an initial 2-year, renewable contract.

Essential Duties:Teaching professors support the academic mission of a department through distinguished teaching, curriculum innovation, mentoring, and professional development. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. The candidate’s primary focus is excellence in teaching and student engagement, including:
  • Teaching: Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering with a focus on environmental engineering and/or water resources engineering.
  • Assessment Preparation: Participate in departmental preparations for the inaugural ABET accreditation of our Environmental Engineering program, including contributions to our assessment efforts and support in drafting of our self-study.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the civil and/or environmental engineering curriculum, incorporating industry trends and advancements in the field.
  • Research and Scholarship: Engage in scholarly activities related to pedagogy, curriculum development, or applied research that enhances the teaching mission of the department.
  • Service: Participate in service activities at the departmental, college, and university levels.
