Job Description

Job Summary:

The main responsibilities of the BIM Coordinator include designing, developing and maintaining 3D models with detailed drawings using BIM software in alignment with our company plumbing standards. In addition to collaborating with plumbers and other experts throughout the design phase and beyond to ensure accuracy of the models, identify or resolve conflicts or issues, and meet project requirements. The BIM Coordinator will also provide training to department team members and collaborate with other departments to determine operational cost estimation, effectiveness of plumbing processes, and consistency across different BIM models reducing project risks and enhancing overall project performance. The role requires a minimum 2 years of experience in 3D modeling, preferably in Revit, with the ability to independently identify and resolve issues that arise during the coordination process. As well as strong attention to details to meet company accuracy standards, strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a team, and flexibility to work in both office and field environments.

Duties/Responsibilities:                                                

BIM designing

  • Design, develop and maintain 3D Models with detailed drawings using BIM software in alignment with our company plumbing standards.
  • Directly participate in the improvement of company's plumbing standards and operating procedures.
  • Create comprehensive plans and keep documentation, plans and programs up to date.
  • Conduct research of products, tools, and processes, and market trends and provide suggestions to improve procedures currently in place.
  • Collaborate with plumbers and other experts throughout the design phase and beyond to ensure accuracy of the models, identify or resolve conflicts or issues, and meet project requirements, including assisting in procedure testing inspections.
  • Utilizing company best practices, perform quality control on deliverables and incorporate Continuous Improvement into work processes.

Department Development

  • Participate in all aspects of the development of the BIM department. Provide leadership taking a wholistic view of the project and make independent project level decisions that are trusted by the plumbing experts.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members using BIM software and other resources.
  • Coordinate work sharing within BIM team and assign tasks to technicians.
  • Visit job sites and collaborate with other departments to determine operational cost estimation, effectiveness of plumbing processes, and consistency across different BIM models reducing project risks and enhancing overall project performance.

 Technical Support

  • Manage Revit software understanding the detail levels when building and selecting RFA elements by categories to represent the design across many views.
  • Record and deliver information about project design, scope, quantities and phases.
  • Offer Software technical support and training to department team members.

General

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in computer operation and in BIM software; Revit/Auto Cad preferred, with experience in alignments, pipe networks, surfaces, and data management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, Revit experience or BIM certification required.
  • Experience in construction preferred.
  • Degree in construction, built environment, architecture or a related field.
  • Ability to understand project requirements, scope of work, and deliverables.
  • Proven ability to learn, adapt, and problem solve to produce accurate and quality deliverables.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexibility to work in both office and field environments, adapting to the demands of each setting.

 Physical Requirements:

This position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasionally carrying and lifting equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. Moving throughout the building and job sites to perform daily tasks. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
