BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for creating and maintaining a strong partnership between finance and the organization. This person is responsible for the budget and forecasting process, leading the month end close, presenting to executive leadership, supporting the earnings process, and providing support to their functional business partners and includes 1-2 direct reports. This person is also responsible for assisting the Senior Director of FP&A in capital expenditure and various reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the primary finance partner for the CFO.

  • Manage the finance calendar for the organization

  • Owns budget and forecasting process for the entire organization.

  • Provide direction during the month and quarterly close processes including reviewing variance. analysis and exception reports and provide recommendations.

  • Delivers analysis and insights that enhance decision making and create value for the organization.

  • Collaborates cross functionally with sales, operations, product management, and other finance. functions to solve challenges for internal and external customers.

  • Provide coaching and development to a team of analysts.

  • Identifies & implements appropriate KPIs to track business performance.

  • Identify areas for efficiencies and cost improvements and performance tracking of cost. improvement initiatives.

  • Support the earnings process

  • Ensures effective internal controls and compliance with MSC's accounting policies and procedures.

  • Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC Manager as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates.

  • Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.

  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, business, or equivalent

  • Minimum of eight years of related experience required

  • Minimum of two years of experience managing or overseeing associates

  • Proven track record of providing strong finance partnership

  • In depth knowledge of financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting is required

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required, and the ability to prepare and present concise and persuasive reports and presentations

  • Ability to use multiple software packages to enhance efficiency, efficacy and confidence of results

  • Comfortable delivering dissenting opinions supported by facts in a respectful manner

  • Ability to coach and manage a team

  • In depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements

Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license may be required.

  • Position requires up to 5% of travel

Compensation starting at $94290 - $148170 depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
