Job Description
Tersus Environmental is seeking a recent engineering graduate for an Environmental Remediation Project Engineer position in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. We provide groundwater remediation technologies and technical services to environmental consultants working on contaminated sites.
This position offers training and direct support from experienced professionals. You will learn to evaluate groundwater monitoring data, support remediation projects, and communicate technical findings to clients.
Our performance monitoring work includes compound-specific isotope analysis (CSIA), molecular biological tools (MBTs), and contaminant mass flux measurements. These tools help evaluate contaminant degradation, treatment performance, and options for improving remediation. The role focuses on data evaluation, technical reporting, and project support. Environmental consultants and their field teams conduct the sampling.
Responsibilities
-
Organize and evaluate groundwater chemistry, contaminant concentration, CSIA, microbial, and mass flux data.
-
Prepare charts, tables, and draft technical reports explaining results and their implications for remediation.
-
Assist with monitoring program design and selection of remediation technologies and amendments.
-
Coordinate project schedules, laboratory services, and deliverables.
-
Work with environmental consultants and support client relationships, proposals, and business development.
Qualifications
-
A bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or a related discipline.
-
Strong analytical skills and an interest in groundwater remediation, environmental chemistry, and biological treatment processes.
-
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
-
Proficiency with Excel and an ability to organize, check, and interpret technical data.
-
Initiative, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Relevant coursework, research, internships, or senior design projects are valuable. Prior experience with CSIA, MBTs, or mass flux measurements is not required; training will be provided.
Location and Training
This is a remote position for someone based in the Raleigh area or willing to relocate nearby. Local availability is important for in-person training and regular collaboration with our North Carolina team. Responsibilities will expand as you develop technical knowledge and experience.
