Job Description
Position Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring that PUPCO has the right product, at the right price, in the right location, at the right time to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The role requires a data-driven and collaborative approach, with an emphasis on strategic decision-making, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely issuance of Purchase Orders to ensure Supply remains correlated with Demand, identifying abnormalities and adapting/addressing accordingly
- Maintain accurate Expected Delivery Dates for Inbound Shipments, expediting product when it is tactically prudent to do so
- Maintain the Purchase Order Lifecycle, ensuring accuracy of Lead-Times, Quantity, and Cost, from Origination to Final Billing
- Utilize the Demand/Supply Planning System in the assessment of Inventory needs and subsequent Purchase Order creation
- Execute Purchasing Tactical Initiatives in support of PUPCO’s Strategic Direction, based on Demand/Supply Trends and fulfilling Customer needs
- Evaluate Purchasing Support reports and Demand/Supply Planning outputs to create Purchase Orders
- Support the Sales Operations Team in sourcing and coordinating vendor quotes to facilitate the Quote-To-Order process.
- Maintain Vendor databases for price and lead-time
- Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work in an organized and thoughtful manner, ensuring daily tasks are completed in a timely fashion
- Ability to communicate with Cross-Functional Teams, individually or in a group setting
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and can work with an appreciable amount of latitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with an energetic group of Sales Professionals to meet or exceed customer requirements
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work in ambiguous situations, bringing clarity to the process, utilizing a data-driven approach to decisions and planning
- Ability to overcome problems and challenges, while maintaining pre-defined timelines, despite competing priorities
Education and Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; particularly Excel
- Experience with an ERP, at an Intermediate or greater level; particularly NetSuite
Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
