Job Description

OVERVIEW

The therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, therapy, counseling, and support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. They are required to maintain up to date knowledge of other services and resources within the community and work closely with individuals to provide information and support when required. 

This position will be responsible for providing on-site therapy services within Cabarrus County Schools in support of CCS’ School Based Mental Health Services.  When not scheduled to provide services on site with CCS, the therapist will provide therapy services at Camino Health Center locations

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients.
  • Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders.
  • Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
  • Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Meet with and/or communicate with treatment teams as needed.
  • Establish positive rapport with CCS staff and other service providers involved in student care.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.
  • Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
  • Refers patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
  • Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.
  • Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
  • Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Assures all patient records and documentation meet all local, state, and federal standards.
  • Adheres to agency policy and procedures.
  • Maintains all requirements in adherence to specific licensure.
  • Other duties to support the agency as required.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bi-lingual, Spanish required
  • Must hold a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or other appropriate Human Services Field
  • Must hold Licensure to practice within the state of North Carolina (Eg:- LCSW, LCSW-A, LCMHC, LCMHC-A, LCAS, LCAS-A, LMFT, LMFT-A etc.)

REVIEW PROCESS

  • Every new hire will be under a 90-day probationary period
  • New hires will receive a 30- and 60-day verbal "review" to assess their performance and a 90-day written assessment/review
  • On an ongoing basis, all employees will have a monthly "touch base" with their direct supervisor to set goals and review performance
  • An annual review will be conducted for every employee by their direct supervisor
  • This review will assess each employee on their job performance as well as our values and will determine raises
