SUMMARY:

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Full charge bookkeeping duties in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

• Responsible for periodic closing of various entities including:
  
  
  • Account analysis and journal entries required
  
  
  • Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate cash records
  
  
  • General Ledger account reconciliations to include adjustments as needed
  
  
  • Updating various tracking schedules in support of financial statements
  
  
  

• Prepare and publish financials as required for owners and investors on a periodic basis

• Coordinate and complete year end tasks with tax return preparers or outside professionals

• Prepare budgets and cash flow reports for various entities

• Manage various construction project draws and maintain accurate tracking records

• Ensure timely processing and status updates on multiple construction projects

• Set up and update information in accounting software for entities, customers and tenants

• Maintenance of information integrity stored in the company’s database files

• Assist the real estate team or other staff accountants with other accounting duties as needed

• Perform other tasks as may be assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent level of experience highly desired

• Experience in full charge accounting, real estate accounting, or property accounting preferred

• Experience in real estate industry desired

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software, such as Quickbooks or Yardi or equivalent
