Civil Construction Estimator/Project Manager

Located in Lancaster SC, LCI-Lineberger Construction, Inc. is a heavy highway and civil construction firm operating in both North and South Carolina for more than 30 years. We are seeking a construction industry professional to join our Estimating and Project Management Team. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Analyze, understand and review construction plans and specifications
• Assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost
• Produce accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings resulting in competitive pricing of labor, equipment and material costs
• Work independently to prepare complete project estimates using HCSS software technology
• Ensure that all estimate deadlines are met and project take-offs completed as scheduled in advance of bid due dates
• Demonstrate knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases
• Assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to properly analyze cost
• Monitor all areas of day to day project activities, including adherence to budgetary guidelines while ensuring quality and safety standards.
• Communicate project progress with company management, contractors, subcontractors and vendors to ensure effective scheduling of resources to maintain planned completion dates
• Make site inspections to verify manpower, work quantities and quality meet required standards

Position Requirements:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or similar discipline preferred
• Experience in estimating and project management preferred, equivalent in education and experience will be considered.
• Experience working for a general contractor engaged in DOT or heavy highway projects preferred
• Working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases
• HCSS or similar estimating software technology preferred
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
• Strong verbal and communication skill
