ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

• Supervise a group of children alongside Program Assistants and is responsible for their overall health and well-being. Provides careful, attentive supervision; alert at all times.
• Plan and implement program activities that are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with Young Explorers’ values.  
• Cultivate positive relationships and maintain effective communication with parents, children and other staff.
• Assist students in completing daily homework assignments. 
• Help record and maintain the student information. 
• Supervise and monitor participants during hand washing and bathroom breaks.
• Supervise and monitor participants during indoor and outdoor programming and free play.
• Provide appropriate First-Aid to participants as the need arises. 
• Set up for nutritional snacks. 
• Clean up areas after snacks. 
• Clean up after participants have left. 
• Attends trainings and weekly staff meetings with After School leadership.
• Other duties as assigned by Child Care Director, Child Care Coordinator, or Site  Director. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

• Ability to read, interpret and communicate information effectively. ∙ Ability to work alone or in groups. 
• Ability to solve practical problems. 
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. 
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
