Job Description
I Am, We Are (IAWA) a nonprofit that empowers youth in Africa and across her diaspora with the tools they need to own their future, is seeking dedicated, creative, and intrapreneurial students or entry-level professionals to assist with our social media and digital marketing management.
ABOUT I AM, WE ARE
IAWA engages high school aged youth and their families in holistic programs and services that empower youth to be instruments and agents of their own development. IAWA’s values-based and trauma-informed curriculum supports youth during their critical adolescent years, and instills the hope, purpose, fortitude and mental well-being they need to transition to an economically self-sufficient adulthood.
IAWA is a registered non-profit organization in the United States of America and the Republic of South Africa. After concluding a successful pilot in South Africa, IAWA is actively working to extend programming to Lagos, Nigeria and Prince George’s County, Maryland/Washington, DC in 2020. ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
As a member of IAWA's Communications team and Nia Circle, the Digital Marketing intern will work with Communications and Marketing experts to:
- Develop strategies to enhance IAWA's social media footprint (facebook, twitter, etc)
- Social media content and campaign creation (facebook, twitter, instagram)
- Maintain relationship with donors through email marketing campaigns
- Write and publish quarterly enewsletter

- Creativity and intrapreneurship (ability to work within structures to create something new)
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Proficient time-management skills and self-motivated
- Proficient listening skills, as well as oral and written communication skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
