This Health Engagement Coach/Coordinator will plan, implement, coordinate, and monitor the worksite wellness programs for the employees of assigned UHC customer. The Health Engagement Coordinator/Coach will be responsible for conducting employee surveys to identify health needs, designing customized programs to address employee needs, and creating communication materials to promote health education programs and activities, and will measure program outcomes.
The Health Engagement Coordinator/Coach is responsible for delivering prevention and lifestyle intervention services focusing on nutrition, physical activity, weight management and reduction of risk for chronic disease. The Health Engagement Coordinator/Coach will use behavior modification and coaching techniques via one-on-one sessions to high and moderate risk clientele who are employees.
The Health Engagement Coordinator/Coach collaborates with the Health Engagement Consultant to develop and implement a multiyear solutions roadmap. This strategy utilizes analytic data to improve employee engagement, affordability and decision making. The Health Engagement Coordinator/Coach and Health Engagement Consultant work in tandem to deliver high impact results that incorporates a solutions-oriented engagement process. This position focuses on engagement and consumerism, in conjunction with UHC and Optum products, as well as external vendors. This is a field-based position.
This position requires up to 50% local travel to multiple locations throughout Lakeland, FL.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist employees in developing personal and measurable health goals and plans
- Meet with employees on a regular schedule to monitor progress and make referrals to resources
- Administer basic non-invasive biometric measurements for employees (weight, waist circumference, body fat); provides associated health education, referral, and counseling based on results
- Track individual and group employee meetings in a proprietary dashboard
- Maintain and report accurate, timely and appropriate outcomes data (unidentified)
- Participate in regular meetings with the Employee Wellness Program manager and/or staff
- Demonstrate an ability to deliver effective personal health coaching in a manner that promotes behavior change
- Appropriately adapt coaching and education methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of each employee served
- Identify employee health promotion needs and development/implementation of health promotion activities
- Monitors and analyzes customer specific health analytic data and develops targeted data driven strategic plans and programs; provides support to clinical programs; may perform clinical assessments, non-invasive biometric screenings and associated health education and counseling
- Serve as point of contact for employee program participants; includes facilitating internal/external communications such as reports and presentations
- Implementation and delivery of Health Risk Assessments, Health Screenings, Health Fairs, Web-based Health Management Tools, Disease Management Services and Health Promotion Programs and Activities
- Coordinate vendor and partner health management and worksite wellness services for employees
- Obtain and review health promotion resources from various sources and/or develop/customize materials, as needed
- Coordinate employee wellness committees and committee meetings

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in worksite wellness and directly related to specified duties
- Current knowledge of disease prevention (cardiovascular and diabetes) and basic understanding of exercise principles, nutrition, and weight management
- Experience in PC-based word processing and database documentation (Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Stay abreast of current health promotion, disease prevention, and community development trends for proper delivery
- Demonstrated skill in planning, implementing and coordinating health promotion strategies. Experience with program evaluation, both process and outcomes data
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Health Education Specialist
- Certification in a nationally recognized coaching program
- Bilingual in Spanish
