Job Description
The Research Integrity Assistant intern provides program support to the Office of Research Protections and Integrity (ORPI) by performing various administrative, technical, and analytical duties and day-to-day research compliance under the lead direction of the ORPI Director and senior compliance managers. This experience gives the students unique hands-on/professional experience in research compliance processes and procedures. The student will be prepared to follow a career in research compliance, opening various professional opportunities.
Office of Research Protections and Integrity (ORPI) The ORPI provides administrative support to the following research areas: Human Subjects Protection, Animal Care and Use, Biosafety, Conflict of Interest, Export Controls, Responsible Conduct of Research, and Laboratory Animal Resources.
The ORPI promotes a culture of compliance, research integrity, and high-quality research within UNC Charlotte. The student may work in one or many areas of research compliance. Duties in ORPI include, but it is not limited to:
● Acts as one of the organizational resources for research
protections.
● Respond to inquiries regarding research compliance.
● Monitors compliance emails
and requests from compliance managers.
● Assists with research compliance meetings and
logistics.
● Provides administrative support for the office function and completes special projects
and assignments as needed.
● Track training records and notify students, faculty, and staff as
needed.
● Review applications.
● Learn and become familiar with federal and state laws and
institutional regulations.
● Data entry into various systems (i.e., Excel and Niner Research).
● Review and update ORPI website.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
