Job Description
- Research regulatory standards, industry best practices and university operations.
- Prepare and enforce policies, procedures and programs to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Stays current on emerging trends and advises management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
- Update programs to maintain compliance.
- Prepare reports and ensure all records are maintained
- Develop and maintain a health and safety planning and operational calendar.
- Develop operational budget needs and justify major expenditures.
- Implements health and safety policies, procedures and programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct health and safety compliance audits, measure results, and develop internal controls to ensure institutional regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for routine situations.
- Guide and direct health and safety and operational committees.
- Collaborate with department administrators to identify regulatory issues, hazards, update program enrollment inventories and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Design and implement new programs to address unique health and safety issues.
- Develop and implement a training and outreach plan.
- Develop health and safety media communication standards.
- Provide appropriate health and safety compliance, accident prevention, and investigation training for managers and supervisors.
