Perform requested exams in a manner that assures the interpreting physician that the appropriate exam has been performed and is complete and adequate Provide the physician with the clinical history appropriate to the exam being performed Explain procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results Position patients: Select appropriate transducer.  Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment. Move scanner over specified body area, and adjust equipment to focus Make hard copy images (OB Only). Document tests Assemble materials for radiologist and transmit information to RIS and PACS systems Maintain ultrasound equipment. Order and stock all ultrasound supplies.  Keep work area clean Prepare patients for physician, obtain vital signs, and assist during examination Maintain department records, reports and files Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested Participate in staff development and educational activities Maintain strictest confidentiality Perform other duties as assigned
