Monarch NC, a provider of high-quality and trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our Community Support team in Greensboro, NC. 

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide individualized services in the community and promote individual self-determination and decision-making. You will provide essential expertise and consultation to the staff to promote a culture in which each individual’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into treatment, rehabilitation, and community self-help.  You will also model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness and resilience in the people we serve.

To qualify, candidates must have the following: 

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Candidates must be a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS).
• At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with mental health or substance use issues.
