Job Description

Summary of Position:

The HRIS and Payroll Specialist will maintain the integrity and reliability of the organization’s HRIS, ensuring applications meet the needs, requirements, and objectives of the HR department. In addition, this position will manage and process the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

HR Information Systems

· Serves as the subject matter expert for HR systems used in the organization

· Collaborates with HR team and key organizational members to determine the short- and long-term HR system objectives and develops a plan to modify or enhance applications, modules, and systems to meet those objectives

· Prepares reports and presents findings and recommendations to the VP, Human Resources

· Implements process improvements and policy changes designed to improve efficiency and the user experience with HR systems

· Ensures security, end-user access, and data integrity across all HR platforms

· Prepares training materials, guides, and documentation for all HR systems

· Provides user training and hands-on support to all employees

· Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology

Payroll

· Conducts all regular and off-cycle payroll processes

· Maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions

· Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates

· Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions

· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices

· Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors

Requirements

Education and Skill Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred

· Three to five years of related HRIS and payroll experience required

· Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills
