Job Description
Lee Construction has immediate openings for Project Engineers in South Carolina and North Carolina. Lee Construction Company of the Carolinas is a heavy highway bridge contractor based out of Pineville (Charlotte), NC. Lee performs bridge work for the DOT in NC and SC.
Primary Function
The Project Engineer provides support to Superintendents and Project Managers building quality projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Have thorough knowledge of plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Assist Superintendents and Project Managers in coordinating daily activities
- Create and update project schedule
- Survey and layout
- Quality Control
- Procure necessary permanent and construction materials
- Prepare daily reports documenting project activities
- Document control including submittals, RFIs, change orders, etc.
- Track quantities of completed work for billing
- Monitor crew productivity and budget; code costs appropriately
- Assist in subcontractor coordination and management
- Safety management
- Equipment management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Science/ Management
- Ability to apply engineering principles to solve problems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project software proficiency preferred
