We’re excited to welcome Claims Operations Interns to our Group Protection team as part of our Summer 2026 cohort. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the core of our Group Benefits business — Claims.

Background

Claims is the cornerstone of our value proposition in the Group Benefits market. As a Claims Operations Intern, you’ll gain insight into our claims case management philosophy, understand how claims management influences financial outcomes, and explore how we collaborate across teams—both within Claims and cross-functionally—to drive strategic initiatives and achieve success.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver routine Claims work independently, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines in a timely manner and meet deadlines appropriately.
• Follow processes for consistent case management, including creation and maintenance of action plans that outline timing of follow-up activities and key decisions to effectively administer policy provisions.
• Support and promote change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within Claims.
• Meet or exceed departmental quality and service standards.
• Contribute to key strategic initiatives as defined by Leadership

• Demonstrates solid relationship management skills with internal and/or external clients (e.g. management, peers, colleagues, customers, etc.).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
• Sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• A minimum GPA of 3.0(Preferred)

The pay range for this position is $21-22 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
