The Internship
The Group Mentor Leader serves as the primary relationship builder, facilitator, and accountability partner for a cohort of Goal Achievers. This role ensures students feel seen, supported, challenged, and guided as they explore college, career, and life pathways aligned with TAOGA’s All Pathways Matter philosophy. Group Mentor Leaders are not simply mentors — they are culture shapers, motivators, connectors, and trusted guides. Core Function of the Role The Group Mentor Leader is responsible for: ✔ Building strong, trust-based relationships with assigned students and parents ✔ Facilitating group mentoring sessions ✔ Supporting student goal setting & progress tracking ✔ Connecting students to TAOGA opportunities ✔ Create and Connect the program to new resources that could support our scholars ✔ Help Plan and Attend Career Exploration Activities and monthly leadership development sessions. ✔ Supporting Mentors ✔ Be able to work 8-10 hours a week during the work week. ✔ Attend Monthly Team Meetings (Virtual) ✔ Attend Every 3rd Saturday for monthly Leadership Development Sessions. We have two cities this opportunity supports: Charlotte and Monroe NC. Student will only be required to drive to Monroe twice a month max. Office location will be in Charlotte. ✔ Completing onboarding and Training Session

Learning Experience
Students will learn how to build community base relationships. Learn the importance of documentation and progress tracking They will learn how to work in a team while solving problems. They will learn more about the college access and workforce development space. They will learn more about the nonprofit space and case management

Outcomes
High school families are able to navigate life a little easier with the Group Mentor Leader support. To help a safe, bold and engaging culture of belonging for all students and parents. Students reach their postsecondary goals and families feel empowered.
