Process & Development Engineer I

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Process & Development Engineer to join our growing engineering and production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in both process optimization and product development, supporting daily manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement across our advanced materials lines. This role reports directly to the Chief Engineer and involves close collaboration with technicians, contractors, and management. This position will primarily be located at Green Eagle but will require some amount of time spent at Screen Tight.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate production schedules and contractor activities to meet output goals.
• Oversee machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting on key production machinery including extrusion and nonwoven lines.
• Program and adjust machine operating parameters.
• Support process improvement initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and limited DOE work.
• Plan and track preventive maintenance with engineering and maintenance teams.
• Conduct product testing and collect performance data according to ASTM and internal standards.
• Train contractors and operators on safe and effective machine operation.
• Assist in product and process development projects, including prototyping and design validation.
• Perform occasional CAD design work in SolidWorks for fixtures, tooling, and product components.
• Contribute to quality and documentation systems in alignment with ISO 9001 implementation.
• Provide weekly production reports and participate in engineering and management meetings.
