Job Description
We are seeking two motivated interns for a 6-week paid forestry and land stewardship internship on a private property in Burnsville, NC. This is a hands-on outdoor position focused on trail work, forest maintenance, and land improvement projects in a mountain environment.
Interns will work directly with on-site supervision and gain practical experience in trail clearing, path construction, material processing, and general forestry fieldwork.
Internship Details
- Duration: 6 weeks
- Start Date: June 1, 2026 (flexible)
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Pay: $14/hour
- Housing: Provided on-site
- Openings: 2 positions available

Responsibilities
- Clear and maintain trails
- Build and improve walking paths
- Process and shred natural materials
- Assist with general land stewardship projects
- Work safely with outdoor tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- Interest in forestry, conservation, outdoor recreation, or land management
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn
- Comfortable working in a rural mountain environment
- Experience with outdoor tools or trail work is helpful but not required
