The Internship
The CO-LAB Experience & Operations Associate (EOA) is a pre-professional role designed for students seeking to build practical experience at the intersection of entrepreneurial environments and venue operations. This position develops core competencies in operations management, customer experience, and event execution within a fast-paced, innovation-driven workspace.
EOAs play a critical role in maintaining day-to-day facility performance while supporting the delivery of programs, events, and partner engagements. Through this work, associates gain hands-on experience in managing a multifunctional venue, engaging with founders and community stakeholders, and contributing to the operational success of an innovation hub.
Learning Experience
Students gain hands-on experience working within a live entrepreneurial and innovation environment, building practical skills in operations, customer experience, and event execution.
Through this role, students will:
Develop operational and problem-solving skills in managing a large venue
Gain exposure to startups, founders, and innovation ecosystems
Build experience in event coordination and program execution
Strengthen communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Improve adaptability and professionalism in a fast-paced environment
This experience prepares students for careers in operations, entrepreneurship, and innovation-focused roles.
Outcomes
By the end of the role, students are expected to demonstrate measurable growth and performance across operations, experience, and professional readiness:
Consistent Operational Execution- Independently manage daily venue events opening/closing procedures, space readiness, and operational workflows with minimal supervision.
Effective Event Support & Execution- Successfully support the coordination and execution of programs and events, ensuring smooth logistics and strong attendee experience.
Professional Communication & Presence- Communicate clearly and confidently with diverse stakeholders, representing CO-LAB in a professional manner.
Problem-Solving & Ownership- Identify issues in real time and take initiative to resolve them, demonstrating accountability and sound judgment.
Understanding of Entrepreneurial Environments- Articulate how coworking spaces, startups, and innovation ecosystems operate and intersect.
Workplace Readiness- Exhibit reliability, time management, adaptability, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
