Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team at Don't Be Shai Wax Center, where you'll gain hands-on experience in customer service, business operations, and marketing. This internship is ideal for college students majoring in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related fields who are interested in learning how to manage client relationships, contribute to marketing campaigns, and develop skills in office management and business operations in a retail setting.

As a Wax Center Receptionist Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the front desk operations and assisting with a variety of tasks that will expose you to customer service, marketing strategies, and business operations. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Customer Service & Client Relations:

    • Greet and check-in clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive client experience.
    • Schedule appointments and manage bookings using the center’s scheduling system.
    • Answer client inquiries, including providing information on services, promotions, and products.
    • Handle client feedback, both positive and negative, and escalate concerns to the appropriate management personnel.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Assist with daily operations, such as inventory management, office organization, and supply ordering.
    • Help maintain an organized and clean front desk and lobby area.
    • Assist with managing and tracking client records, including scheduling and follow-up calls.
  • Marketing & Promotions:

    • Assist in creating and implementing social media content, email newsletters, and promotional campaigns.
    • Help track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and suggest strategies for improving client engagement.
    • Assist in setting up and promoting seasonal or limited-time offers, working closely with the marketing team.
  • Business Development & Analytics:

    • Participate in meetings related to business strategy and discuss ways to improve operations and client experience.
    • Assist with gathering and analyzing data from customer feedback, surveys, or reviews.
    • Track and analyze customer trends to help develop marketing and business strategies.

Throughout your internship, you will gain exposure to various aspects of business, marketing, and customer service. By the end of the internship, you will:

  • Develop Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Skills:

    • Gain practical experience in managing customer inquiries and appointments in a fast-paced environment.
    • Learn how to create positive client experiences that drive repeat business and customer loyalty.
  • Understand Marketing Strategies & Execution:

    • Learn about different marketing strategies (digital and traditional), and how to execute campaigns effectively.
    • Assist in creating promotional content for social media, email, and other marketing channels.
    • Gain insight into the tracking and analysis of marketing campaign effectiveness.
  • Business Operations & Analytics:

    • Understand the operational components of running a service-based business.
    • Learn about inventory management, financial tracking, and client data analytics to improve business outcomes.
    • Participate in decision-making processes that impact day-to-day operations.
  • Improve Communication and Professional Skills:

    • Build professional communication skills both internally (with team members and management) and externally (with clients).
    • Develop a strong understanding of professional email etiquette, phone communications, and client interactions.
  • Project Management & Organization:

      • Learn how to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while prioritizing urgent requests.
      • Assist in the coordination of marketing projects, client events, or seasonal promotions.
      • Business Students:

        • Gain real-world experience in the business environment, particularly in service-oriented operations.
        • Learn business management fundamentals, including client service operations, marketing strategy, and operational efficiency.
      • Marketing Students:

        • Apply marketing principles in a practical setting, including content creation, social media management, and campaign analysis.
        • Gain experience in client-driven promotions and customer behavior analysis.
      • Communications Students:

        • Develop professional communication skills in a customer-facing role.
        • Learn how to effectively convey brand messaging to clients through various channels (e.g., social media, email, in-person).
    Qualifications:
      • Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field).
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
      • Comfortable working with computers and technology, including scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
      • Highly motivated with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
      • Previous experience in customer service or retail is a plus, but not required.
    • Supervision and Mentorship:
      • Primary Supervisor: The intern will be supervised by the Owner who will provide day-to-day guidance and feedback.
      • Mentorship: The intern will have regular check-ins with the owner who will offer additional career development advice and help connect the intern’s work to their academic goals.
      • Performance Reviews: Midway through and at the end of the internship, you will receive a formal performance review, which will include feedback on your strengths and areas for growth.
