POSITION SUMMARY:Please apply online using a laptop or desktop computer.The NMDP National Student Leadership Board (NSLB) is a team of student interns from across the country that provide peer leadership, support, and resources to NMDP Chapters. The roles on this team are designed to work collaboratively and will require all successful members to work together effectively. The students on this team will work closely with NMDP staff to provide insights on how to effectively support and engage the student community and will actively set and pursue strategic goals they have the ability to achieve through projects that align with the goals and mission of NMDP. This is a remote position (US). #LI-RemoteCheck out our video Saving Lives: It's the Best Job EverACCOUNTABILITIES:National Student Leadership Board members are expected to virtually attend a weekly team call and a bi-weekly 1:1 with the team supervisor. Every effort will be made to schedule these at a time that will not interfere with team member's academic schedules.National Student Leadership Board interns will have various project-based work throughout the year. Some of these will be independent, some in a partner or team setting. These projects will have the objective of supporting the foundational elements and growth of the NMDP Chapters Program nationwide.Areas of focus for these projects could include, but will not be limited to:Chapter onboarding and mentoring to meet program standards and expectations.Resource developmentTraining development and facilitationMetric reporting and data analysisChapter member engagement and communicationsIt is also an expectation that National Student Leadership Board Members will be active and engaged Ambassadors and/or Chapter Members on their own campuses, helping to ensure their own campus Chapters are meeting all requirements to be considered a Chapter that meets standards and expectations. If a Chapter does not currently exist on campus where a National Student Leadership Board member attends, getting a new Chapter established will be a top priority.In all work, National Student Leadership Board members will be committed to upholding the organization's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBelieves in the mission of the National Student Leadership Board and NMDP.Growth mindset; actively seeking mentorship and leadership development.Collaborative and future focused mentality.Ability to prioritize time as needed onboard activities without interfering with their collegiate endeavors.Ability to successfully work both independently and as a team in a remote, virtual environment.Ability to communicate clearly and promptly, within standard business expectations.Meets or exceeds college/universities' Standard Academic Progress requirements.Work in partnership with others and delegate responsibilities as needed.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration )Previous leadership roles, professional or volunteer.Experience in planning and facilitating meetings, including agenda preparation.Experience in goal setting and timeline planning.An enthusiasm for personal and professional development.Term CommitmentThe selected individual commits to serve in this role for a term of 13 months, with the targeted term beginning in June 2024 and ending in June 2025. The final month of the term will overlap with the first month of the next term to provide an opportunity for onboarding and offboarding of team members. Individuals interested in serving an additional term after their first term are welcome to apply and interview for a second term but are not guaranteed a position. Position serves at the pleasure of the Higher Ed Staff Team of NMDP and is subject to dismissal due to misconduct or extended unexcused truancy.Time CommitmentOver the span of the above term, interns will work a minimum of 400 hours, not to exceed 600 hours.On average, 10 hours/week time commitmentActive attendance in a bi-weekly 1:1 call with the College Programs ManagerActive attendance in a weekly NSLB team callLive attendance or a review of the recording of Monthly National Chapter Program callsActive attendance in onboarding trainingVirtual- Summer 2024 dates TBDActive attendance at Chapter Program ConferenceMinneapolis, MN - July 16-18All travel, food, lodging covered by NMDP.Contingent upon travel restrictions and budgetHow this role will benefit youAs a member of the NSLB, you will gain a wealth of leadership experience. You will have the opportunity to provide direct leadership and insight to the work of NMDP on a national scale and work directly with staff from across the NMDP organization to support the achievement of organizational goals.
