The Project
This short-term, project-based experience tasks an Exercise Science or Health Communications student with designing and executing a series of social media posts that highlight departmental achievements, student and alumni success stories, upcoming events, and wellness initiatives. The student will use evidence-based communication strategies and digital tools to craft engaging, accessible content that promotes the department’s mission and builds community visibility.

Learning Experience
Through this Gig Training project, the student will gain hands-on experience translating exercise science and kinesiology program initiatives into engaging digital content that promotes the department's programs, student achievements, and alumni impact. They will build marketable skills in social media strategy, visual design, and inclusive messaging while learning to use tools like Canva and other social media platforms. By conducting interviews, crafting evidence-based posts, and analyzing engagement metrics, the student will strengthen their professional communication, technological fluency, and ability to amplify health-related messages for diverse audiences—resulting in a polished portfolio and enhanced career readiness.
