MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

IST Precision Inc. is a machine design and manufacturing company in North Carolina that was established in 2001. We focus on industrial automation equipment and precision electro-mechanical systems. We have our own fabrication shop, machine design group, electronics lab, controls group, and electrical panel shop.

We are seeking a summer mechanical engineering intern. The candidate will be responsible for working with our team in the design of 3D SolidWorks solid models, working with manufacturing vendors, and running diagnostics and testing of machines assembled and built at our company.

Requirements

• Pursuing Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. MUST have completed Junior year.
• Able to use Microsoft products, Word, Excel, PPT
• Experience with Solidworks preferred
• Programming experience is a plus such as Python or C programming
• Experience reading manufacturing prints with GD&T is a plus
• Highly innovative, self-motivated, and able work with minimal supervision
• Flexibility and adaptability – Ability to manage multiple priorities and change as required
• Critical thinking and problem solving with strong attention to detail
• Affinity for technology/Technical understanding – Easily grasps new technical concepts; Shows curiosity for technology
• Willing to go above and beyond
