Job Description
Mentors serve as peer leaders, community builders, and guides for first‑year students. Responsibilities include:
Peer Mentoring & Student Support
- Hold weekly office hours to meet with students, answer questions, and offer guidance
- Serve as a bridge between first‑year students and campus resources
- Model strong academic habits, professionalism, and a positive community culture
Community Engagement
- Help plan, promote, and facilitate Learning Community events throughout the semester
- Build intentional but informal connections with students to foster belonging
- Support group mentoring initiatives and collaborate with the Learning community coordinator to build community
Program Leadership
- Attend monthly mentor meetings and contribute ideas for improving the LC experience
- Provide feedback on student needs, challenges, and successes
- Represent the Cato College of Education with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a current Cato College of Education student
- Have completed at least one semester as a member of the Education Learning Community
- Have weekly availability for office hours, events, and team meetings
