Job Description
Thinking Feet is an enrichment education company that helps students in grades 1–12 build real problem-solving skills in math, coding, and more. We're looking for an energetic math instructor who loves hard problems and can get kids excited about solving them.
What you'll do
- Teach advanced math to elementary and middle school students who are ready to work well beyond grade level.
- Coach students for competitions such as MATHCOUNTS, AMC 8, and AMC 10. This includes teaching problem-solving strategies, and walking through past contest problems.
- Lead a lively virtual classroom where students discuss ideas, brainstorm approaches, and explain their reasoning out loud.
What you bring
- Strong command of combinatorics, probability, algebra, number theory, and geometry at the competition level.
- A natural way with kids. You can challenge them, keep them engaged, and earn their respect.
- A good sense of humor and plenty of energy. Students should look forward to your class.
- Availability on weekday evenings (Monday–Friday, 5:30–7:40 PM ET). Classes are assigned based on your schedule.
Nice to have
- Experience competing in MATHCOUNTS, AMC, AIME, or similar contests
- Teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience
