Job Description

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Intern will participate in the City HR Internship Career Initiative, a structured, cross-functional internship led by Talent Acquisition. The intern will gain hands-on experience across multiple Human Resources functional areas while supporting HR projects, learning core HR processes, and developing professional skills. This internship would be a minimum of 20-25 hours per week for up to 10 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Talent Acquisition with recruitment-related projects and administrative tasks

  • Observe the recruitment lifecycle and candidate experience

  • Assist with training materials, job aids, or learning content (ODL)

  • Support benefits communications and employee education initiatives

  • Assist with data organization, documentation, or job description reviews (Compensation)

  • Support policy documentation, research, or process mapping (Employee Relations)

  • Participate in cohort activities, check-ins, and professional development sessions

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university

  • Major or coursework in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or a related field

  • Strong interest in Human Resources and public service

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
