Job Description
Position Details
The Student Success Grant team, led by Dr. Xiaoxia Newton, is looking for a doctoral student researcher. The student researcher will assist faculty and staff in the collection and evaluation of research data and other project tasks assigned.
- The appointment is from January to May 31, 2025.
- The schedule is 20 hours per week.
- The student researcher must be in a degree seeking program in good academic standing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Self-motivation and a high level of responsibility to complete tasks in a timely manner and make significant progress under the supervision of project team faculty/staff.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Developed research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently learn and apply new methodologies, software, and research techniques with minimal assistance.
- Ability to learn new software and research techniques as needed.
- Flexibility in adjusting to new work-related requirements as they arise.
- Maintain a grade of "B" or better in required coursework.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, SPSS, R, Python3, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Handle confidential and sensitive data with integrity.
- Analyze data and prepare data analysis reports using the appropriate software.
- Assist in conducting research including literature review, data collection and compilation, and data analysis.
- Attend project team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
