Our client is seeking an IT Project Manager with RFP experience for a contract to hire role!

*Can be fully remote but must live in Texas (New Braunfels area is preferred to go into office occasionally)

What's the Job?

Role Purpose

The Project Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of enterprise technology initiatives, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk are actively managed. This role operates within a structured PMO framework while flexing delivery approach (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) based on project needs. The PM is expected to own outcomes, lead through ambiguity, and provide clear, accurate visibility to leadership.

Key Accountabilities

• Own project delivery from initiation through closure.

• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, and budgets.

• Actively manage scope, change, dependencies, risks, and issues.

• Drive clarity and alignment across cross-functional teams and vendors.

• Produce accurate weekly status reporting that tells the full project story.

• Ensure requirements are documented, traceable, and validated.

• Escalate risks early and facilitate timely decision-making.

• Operate in alignment with PMO standards, governance, and reporting cadence.

Core Qualifications

• 5-7 years of Project Management or IT delivery experience.

• Strong understanding of SDLC and iterative hybrid delivery models.

• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity with strong attention to detail.

• Flexible communication style across technical teams, business partners, and executives.

• Demonstrated ownership mentality with a passion for delivering value.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.

Core Skills

• End-to-end project delivery (initiation ? closure)

• Scope definition, WBS development, and change control

• Advanced schedule development and critical path management

• Budget ownership, forecasting, and variance management

• RAID management and dependency tracking

• Executive-level status reporting and communication

• Action item ownership and accountability tracking

• Requirements documentation and traceability

Experience & Tools

• 5+ years leading software application development projects

• Experience leading vendor RFPs, selection, and implementation

• Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies

• Cross-functional and vendor team leadership

• Azure DevOps or similar delivery tools

• SAP S/4HANA experience a plus

Success Indicators

• Projects delivered with clear ownership and minimal surprises

• Leadership has confidence in project data and reporting

• Risks are surfaced early and managed proactively

• Teams understand priorities, decisions, and next steps
