Position Summary:
Another Chance House of Refuge is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Outreach Coordinator to join our team. The Outreach Coordinator will play a critical role in promoting our organization’s housing and community support programs. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with landlords, property managers, and other key stakeholders, as well as expanding the reach of our rental assistance services to families and individuals in need. The Outreach Coordinator will also serve as a liaison between the community and the organization, ensuring that all participants are aware of and have access to our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outreach and Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategic outreach initiatives to promote the organization's housing, rental assistance, and supportive services.
- Identify and establish relationships with local landlords, property managers, housing authorities, and community organizations to create partnerships for housing opportunities.
- Attend and represent the organization at community events, housing fairs, and relevant meetings to enhance visibility and awareness.
- Coordinate presentations, workshops, and informational sessions to educate the community and potential partners about the organization’s mission and services.
- Community Relations:
- Act as the main point of contact for community stakeholders, partners, and clients, ensuring consistent communication and relationship-building.
- Respond to inquiries from individuals and families seeking assistance, and provide information about the eligibility process for housing and rental subsidy programs.
- Assist in the coordination of client referrals and facilitate connections to appropriate internal and external resources.
- Data Collection & Reporting:
- Track outreach activities and engagement metrics, regularly reporting on outcomes, successes, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of partnerships, contact details, and outreach efforts.
- Assist in gathering and compiling data for program reports and evaluations.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the case management team to ensure seamless coordination of services and effective communication between landlords and clients.
- Collaborate with other team members to identify community needs, trends, and opportunities for program expansion.
- Support fundraising and advocacy efforts by contributing to grant applications and public relations activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in outreach, community engagement, or housing services, preferably within a nonprofit or human services organization.
- Strong understanding of affordable housing, rental assistance programs, and the challenges faced by low-income individuals and families.
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and sustain community partnerships and collaborate effectively with external organizations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data entry and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for community events and outreach efforts.
- Knowledge of the Charlotte housing market and local resources is a plus.
