Job Description
(1) the scope and purpose of a project or assignment
The Office of Global Education and Engagement (OGEE) within the Office of International Programs (OIP) is seeking an intern with prior administrative, event planning and social media experience to assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of our 2024-2025 Programs. The intern will primarily be responsible for follow-up with marketing and preparation for the a variety of international programming including but not limited to the International Festival, International Education Week, International Women's Day, Globally Networked Learning, the Global Engagement Scholars Program, and the Great Decisions lecture series.

An ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and team oriented. The candidate will work in an autonomous fashion given training and guidance. The candidate should be extremely detail-oriented and skilled in time management. Additionally, the candidate should have exemplary communication skills (written and verbal) as well as cultural awareness/understanding.
(3) any special time frames needed
The time frame we would like to see is August 2025 - May 2026. As such, for consistency with the academic calendar, we would look at the beginning of the fall 2025 semester as a start point and the end of April 2026 as the end point.
(4) outcomes expected
The project will be approached in several stages:
- Work with the OGEE Director, Assistant Director and Coordinator on international programming marketing/implementation plan
- analyze existing documents which detail various tasks to plan OGEE events
- oversee key logistical areas leading up to and on the day of event(s)
- reflect on ‘timeline’ of the preparation process with an eye of where/how to streamline
- offer feedback for future process(es) / approach(es) to be presented to supervisor/mentor and relevant office staff
- Work with the OGEE Director and Coordinator on social media posts to market events as well as market OGEE programs.
The project provides comprehensive project management experience and offers an opportunity to strengthen the assessment work for the program.
(5) department goal the internship will support
Assistance with marketing of international programming. A student intern will assist OGEE in moving toward our goal of increased strategies for student-focused engagement for our programmatic portfolio. Having a student fully engaged with the project management elements, infuses an ongoing student lens that the professional staff greatly values.
Additionally, input on the overall program logistics and post-program evaluations will be helpful as OGEE continually seeks to streamline our approach to various tasks.
