Job Description
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Graduate Assistant (GA) will aid in the administration, facilitation of education, training & development, and programming in the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. As the CEI Graduate Assistant, this position will serve as an integral member of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation team and will help support the campus entrepreneurial ecosystem through student engagement programming, resource management, and the direct supervision of student staff and ambassadors. This position serves as an essential resource for various institutional stakeholders, providing the outreach necessary to foster a campus-wide culture of innovation.
Supervision:
● Assist the Program Director with the direct supervision, on-boarding, training, and ongoing professional development of Student Innovation Ambassadors and the Marketing Intern.
● Provide front‐facing support and serve as a point of contact for student staff.
● Host monthly 1‐on‐1 meetings with student staff to track progress on projects and professional goals.
● Support and supervise student volunteers or peer leaders as needed.
Program Development & Support:
● Provide general PORTAL office support, including ordering supplies, coordinating catering, and assisting with day‐to‐day CEI office needs.
● Signature Events: The GA is responsible for helping coordinate all activities prior to and during flagship CEI events. Activities include but are not limited to: session logistics, student recruitment, catering, and schedule management.
● Spring Highlights: The GA is responsible for helping coordinate all activities for Spring Semester highlighted programs, such as the 49-Minute Pitch Competition.
● Monthly Programming: Aid in the facilitation and oversight of all monthly CEI workshops, networking mixers, and guest speaker series.
Training and Development:
● CEI Staff Meetings: The GA is responsible for attending and aiding in the facilitation of student staff meetings, including monthly Ambassador meetings and biweekly internal planning sessions.
● Ambassador Training: The GA is responsible for attending and aiding in the facilitation of all onboarding and professional development sessions for the Innovation Ambassadors.
● Staff Recruitment/Selection: The GA is responsible for assisting with the CEI student staff recruitment process, including but not limited to: tabling, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and final team selection.
Other Duties as Assigned:
● Participate in additional university‐wide entrepreneurship initiatives aligned with graduate learning outcomes and the GA learning contract.
● Work independently and collaboratively with strong attention to detail, professionalism, and proactive problem‐solving.
