Job Description
The University Transfer Center at UNC Charlotte supports transfer and post-traditional undergraduate students by offering pre-transfer advising, transition support, and advocacy to promote student success. With a team of six academic advisors, the Center collaborates with campus and community college partners to equip students with the resources and guidance needed to navigate their academic paths and achieve timely graduation.
The Project
This project will create a prototype and development plan for a dashboard that centralizes key metrics for transfer and adult students at UNC Charlotte. The work includes identifying and defining priority data metrics, mapping relevant data sources, building a preliminary dashboard mockup using a tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel, and documenting next steps for a full buildout. The final deliverable will equip the University Transfer Center with a clear plan for dashboard implementation and ongoing maintenance.
Learning Experience
This project offers hands-on experience with data visualization design and planning, including KPI identification, dashboard prototyping, and data source mapping. It will help build skills in analytical thinking, technical documentation, and translating data structure into meaningful visuals. These are valuable skills for roles in data analytics, project management, or institutional effectiveness.
