Location: Remote, in the US, must work EST during business hoursJob Type: Contract, ongoing opportunity, hours each week will varyCompensation Range: $80-90/hr W2Cella has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Medical Writer at an award-winning, best-in-class, in-house agency at a major pharma company. This full-service agency produces a full suite of digital, video, augmented/virtual reality, and print assets and is consistently rated better than both similar in-house agencies and external competitors-overall and with respect to innovation, execution, and client support.This role will focus on supporting our agency's work with the oncology business unit across established and pipeline products, as such, 2+ years of recent experience in oncology, immunology, or infectious disease is required for this role. The ideal candidate should be a medical writer with a terminal scientific degree who has gained experience from a medical communications agency and delivers exceptional content in live, virtual, and digital settings.The Principal Medical Writer will be accountable for drafting and reviewing scientifically accurate, original content for medical clients within oncology and immunology. The Principal Medical Writer will work with clients and the MCS Scientific Strategy Lead to plan and develop high-impact, innovative medical communications for assigned brands.Success in this role will be defined by the individual's ability to develop accurate and relevant medical communication deliverables for medical clients with limited oversight across all assigned engagements. The Principal Medical Writer will play a significant role in account growth by building trust with clients through scientific exchange and expertise in one or more key areas of interest in oncology or immunology.Responsibilities:

Develops and reviews different types of deliverables across diverse project types and audiences.

Deep experience with common medical affairs deliverables (including slide decks, website scientific content, client internal workshops, competitive intelligence reporting, medical insights reporting, and many others).

Partner with Account Services and Scientific Strategy to develop and maintain excellent client relationships and foster organic growth. Proactively identify opportunities to grow scientific partnerships across teams.

Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge across relevant therapy areas with emerging expertise in at least one therapy area (eg, lung cancer, IBD). We want this person to be viewed as an expert in the field.

Experienced team leader that contributes to the overall scientific knowledge base of the team by sharing their subject matter expertise in one or more therapy areas.

Is flexible engaged, we're looking for someone who is comfortable delivering standard medical communications but is willing to explore new technology and ways of working.

Review content from a medical/scientific/strategic perspective, contributes to new business pitches.

Apply insights and data to support the development of new ideas.

Qualifications:

3+ years of medical communications experience as a medical writer or comparable with a medical communications agency.

2+ year of recent and relevant experience as a medical writer in oncology, immunology, or infectious disease.

Terminal advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, NP, or MD).

Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Deep understanding of standard medical communications workstreams (eg proactive and reactive field medical communications, competitive intelligence, congress coverage).

Experienced relationship builder with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

Strong analytical skills and familiarity with pharma data reporting (clinical trial, real-world, and preclinical datasets).

Experienced medical communicator who can make data engaging across multiple different audience types.

Ability to handle multiple timelines and work independently with minimal additional training.
