STW: Charlotte Digital Innovation Fellows

Position Overview: 

CO-LAB, Charlotte Center City Partners, and Truist are partnering to create a digital experience that showcases Charlotte's innovation ecosystem. Through this project, three UNC Charlotte students will gain hands-on experience working with community and corporate partners while building a real-world technology solution.

UX/UI Designer

Responsibilities

• Design the user experience and interface of the application.
• Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes.
• Ensure the platform is intuitive and user-friendly.
• Incorporate feedback from project partners and users.

Learning Experience

• User experience design and research.
• Design thinking and prototyping.
• Stakeholder engagement and feedback implementation.
• Building a professional portfolio project.

Web Application Developer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the application.
• Develop app functionality and interactive features.
• Integrate maps, content, and user tools.
• Test and troubleshoot the platform.

Learning Experience

• Front-end and back-end development.
• Application testing and deployment.
• Real-world software development practices.
• Working on a community-focused technology initiative.

Visual Design & Branding Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop the visual identity and creative direction of the application.
• Design graphics, icons, illustrations, and digital assets.
• Ensure consistency in branding, colors, typography, and visual storytelling.
• Collaborate with the UX/UI Designer to create an engaging user experience.

Learning Experience

• Brand development and visual communication.

• Cross-functional collaboration with designers and developers.
