Acts Retirement Communities is looking for a positive, motivated student who enjoys working with Seniors and learning about Resident Activities to serve as our Life Engagement Coordinator Intern in Matthews, NC (suburb of Charlotte, NC).  This individual will lead resident activities for our active and independent Senior population, hosting trips to fun destinations, attending vibrant social gatherings, helping to create our regular newsletter, and creating posters and other media to advertise upcoming events.  The intern will work hands-on with the Director of Life Engagement daily at our beautiful Matthews, NC campus.

The internship will last 200 - 250 hours, with a flexible work schedule of 20 - 30 hours per week between May 30 and July/August 2025 (the exact timeline will depend on the schedule agreed upon by the intern and preceptor). The payrate will be between $15.00 - $15.50 per hour. While the schedule is very flexible, preference will be given to candidates who can be available some evenings or weekends for special trips or events that occur during the summer.

The ideal candidate for this position will be positive, self-motivated, enjoy working with people (residents as well as colleagues), and be looking to help and make a difference in others' lives.  This role is well suited to anyone looking to pursue a career in senior living, education, recreation, resident engagement or those interested in learning more about other career opportunities within the Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) field.
