Your Team, Your Impact

This position will report to the Vulnerability Management lead in the Marvell Information Security Team. The internship will focus on three critical areas: 1) Vulnerability Scanning and asset identification, 2) Vulnerability and Asset reporting 3) Vulnerability prioritization and. remediation.

Project Areas:

  • Vulnerability Scanning – Configure and mange scheduled scans, ad-hoc scans and web application scans to help reduce our attach surface across private cloud, public cloud and Internet facing resources
  • Vulnerability and Asset reporting – Develop vulnerability and asset reports to meet Business unit, Compliance and Security Requirements
  • Vulnerability prioritization and remediation – Apply risk and threat based intelligence to prioritize remediation efforts drive metrics for remediation resolution and reporting

What You Can Expect

  • Perform vulnerability scans on: Internal assets, Labs, and cloud scope, and Externally exposed assets, cloud assets, DMZ assets 
  • Perform web application scanning on exposed URLs 
  • Report vulnerabilities to respective BISO and R&D Lab owners, follow the remediation process
  • Review the scan scopes periodically to apply any changes and work closely with the network team  
  • Perform compliance and audit scans such as CIS benchmark 
  • Conduct a risk assessment on identified vulnerabilities in order to prioritize them to remediate  
  • Inform stakeholders about the findings and follow up on the identified issues/vulnerabilities 
  • Ensure the remediation/mitigations that are provided by service/server owners are effective and the identified issues are mitigated properly by redoing the scan
  • Monitor security tools and services that are used by the Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) team daily to escalate critical and high findings 

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidate MUST be currently pursuing a BS degree in CS/EE or related technical field(s)
  • 0-1 years of previous experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with scripting (Python, etc.)
  • Experience with Vulnerability management tools and concepts
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills. Advanced Microsoft (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) skills
  • Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Must be analytical, detail oriented and have strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team; be able to handle multiple tasks at a time
  • Familiarity with general information security tools and concepts, e.g. IT general controls, anti-virus/malware, scanning software, identify and access management, vulnerability management, software update processes, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience on risk assessment, control analysis, audit methodologies and cybersecurity controls implementation
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and certifications (ISO 27001/27002, NIST 800, NIST CSF frameworks)

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

26 - 52, $ per hour.

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
