Hours: 40 hours total

Innovate Charlotte is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of the startup ecosystem in Charlotte. We connect entrepreneurs, investors, and community leaders to drive business growth and promote economic development. As part of our mission, we host regular community events, facilitate collaboration, and provide resources to help startups thrive.
Project Description & Location:
This internship will be based in Charlotte, and is predominately remote. The role will require some on-site attendance for events and meetings, as well as remote work for tasks such as social media management and administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
● Social Media Management: Assist the Events + Marketing Manager in implementing
social media strategies by creating engaging content, designing graphics, scheduling
posts, and tracking engagement metrics.
● Event Venue Sourcing: Collaborate with the team to identify and secure event venues
for quarterly community events.
● Administrative & Operational Tasks: Support the organization's daily operations by
completing various tasks such as:
● Researching CRM systems suitable for Innovate Charlotte
● Sourcing relevant assets for the new Innovate Charlotte website
● Developing trackers for venues and grants
● Assisting with additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Experience in social media management and content creation
● Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop)
● Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively
● Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
● Interest in marketing, event planning, and the Charlotte startup ecosystem
Hours Required for Completion:
The internship requires 5-10 hours per week with flexibility based on the intern's schedule. This
will allow students to gain hands-on experience while balancing academic commitments.
