Job Description

The Junior Industrial Engineer is responsible for analyzing and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and manufacturing aptitude and problem-solving skills, along with well-developed interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. They must also possess the capability of effectively managing changing priorities, be self-motivated and with a high level of mechanical aptitude. Additionally, the candidate must be a strong proponent of continuous change and enjoy spending time on the production floor. This is a very hands-on engineering position requiring technical curiosity and knowledge to develop new approaches to old challenges. The work will require creativity, innovation, teamwork, and leadership.

 

Other Responsibilities will Include the Following:

  • Evaluating and recommending the adoption of new procedures, equipment, and technologies to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing production data, such as cycle times, works-in-progress, and production yields – and transforming it into clear, presentable communication that highlights trends and areas for improvement.
  • Updating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions in collaboration with production teams.
  • Driving Cost saving initiatives.
  • Developing and documenting processes (Process Flow Diagrams).
  • Monitoring, improving and reporting on quality related indicators including defect prevention, waste reduction and continuous improvements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers and production staff to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
Full-Time B.S. Degree in an Engineering Discipline 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, with a background in continuous improvement. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Proficient with computer systems including, but not limited to MS Office (emphasis with Excel), Cad ect Data Base experience a distinct plus.
