Job Description

Position Overview:

The Marketing Coordinator is the sole marketing team member at GB Electrical Services, responsible for developing, managing, and reporting on all marketing activities to drive growth in the company’s residential electrical service and repair business. This role works closely with the Vice President to ensure all marketing efforts align with company goals, deliver measurable results, and effectively serve our customer base.

The Marketing Coordinator plays a central role in planning, executing, and optimizing marketing initiatives, while managing vendor relationships and overseeing both in-house and outsourced creative efforts. This position has the potential to grow into supervising future marketing staff or interns as the department expands.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Planning & Strategy

  • Develop an annual marketing plan covering major campaigns, seasonal promotions, budgets, target audiences, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Review and update the marketing plan quarterly or as needed, adjusting for performance outcomes, business needs, and market trends.
  • Present the marketing plan and updates to the Vice President, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.

Campaign Management & Execution

  • Plan and execute campaigns across channels such as:
    • Digital ads (Google, Facebook, Instagram, NextDoor)
    • Email
    • Social media
    • Direct mail
  • Local events
  • Create or oversee outsourced design/content using tools like Canva, various Adobe apps, and ChatGPT, making decisions based on company goals, budget, and time constraints.
  • Ensure advance access is provided to the Vice President for all campaign materials and messaging.
  • Implement campaigns inside current CRM, ensuring campaigns are properly created, tracking phone numbers are purchased where applicable, and all associated costs are accurately entered for reporting.
  • Maintain owner access (held by the Vice President) to all marketing platforms, including vendor dashboards, Google Analytics, and any new tools. If platforms only allow one owner role, ensure the Vice President sets up ownership and provides the Marketing Coordinator with the necessary access.

Performance Reporting & Analysis

  • Deliver a monthly marketing report to the Vice President, including:
    • Average weekly leads over the prior 180 days.
    • Average weekly leads during the same campaign period in the prior year (i.e., the same calendar period the year before).
    • Average weekly leads during the current campaign period.
    • Campaigns run, communication methods, results (leads, revenue, cost per lead, ROI).
    • For less trackable campaigns, provide comparative analysis:
  • Establish a baseline of key performance indicators such as social media engagement, website traffic, SEO rankings, and Club Membership retention to help guide and set future KPIs.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize campaign performance and resource allocation.

Vendor & Budget Management

  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for potential new vendors; finding and/or researching potential marketing products & services, and providing research findings, and feedback to company management and assist management in making decisions regarding new marketing products & services.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and vendors, designers, agencies, and partners. Manage relationships with external vendors, designers, agencies, and partners, ensuring deliverables meet expectations and are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Monitor and manage marketing spend, ensuring all initiatives stay within the approved marketing budget.

Content & Brand Management

  • Oversee the development, approval, and distribution of marketing content, maintaining brand consistency and alignment with company standards.
  • Maintain an organized archive of marketing materials, campaign assets, and performance reports.

Content Creation & Coordination

  • Coordinate with field technicians and office staff to plan, capture, and organize photo and video content.
  • Ensure regular collection of educational, promotional, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Schedule and direct content sessions to minimize disruption to daily operations.
  • Maintain an organized digital library of photos, videos, and marketing assets.
  • Identify opportunities to capture compelling customer stories, project highlights, and company culture.

Collaboration, Delegation & Cross-Functional Support

  • Coordinate closely with the Vice President and company leadership to align marketing activities with operational and business goals.
  • Coordinate with field and office teams to schedule and facilitate the creation of marketing photos and videos.
  • Communicate upcoming campaigns, promotions, and messaging to internal teams as necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred: 2+ years of marketing experience, ideally in a B2C, service-based, or small-business environment.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with tools and platforms such as Constant Contact, Canva, ChatGPT, Adobe Suite, Google Analytics, CertainPath Software (CRM), Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting marketing data and generating actionable insights.
  • Creative thinking, adaptability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based work with extended periods of sitting, typing, and computer use
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, printer, etc.)
  • Occasional standing and walking during meetings, events, or on-site marketing activities
  • Ability to lift and carry marketing materials, displays, or equipment (typically up to 25–30 lbs)
  • Bending, reaching, and setting up materials for events, trade shows, or promotional activities
  • Travel to local events, job sites, or community functions as needed
  • Occasional long-distance travel may be required for vendor meetings, training, or other events
  • Occasional evening or weekend work for events, campaigns, or deadlines
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
  • Collaboration with internal team members, vendors, and external partners
  • Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors depending on event requirements
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
