Why This Role Matters
This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants hands-on experience, real project responsibility, and mentorship from experienced professionals. As a Project Engineer I, you won’t just be supporting projects—you’ll be learning how designs come together from concept through construction while building a strong technical foundation.

What You’ll Do
You’ll work under the guidance of senior engineers while steadily building confidence and independence.
- Design portions of civil engineering projects using Civil 3D and other office software
- Perform engineering calculations and apply technical concepts to solve real-world problems
- Assist with specifications, material selection, and construction documentation
- Collaborate with Designers and CADD Technicians to complete plan sets and details
- Conduct research and prepare clear, objective reports that support project decisions
- Assist with engineering and construction cost estimates
- Participate in field observations, inspections, and data collection
- Communicate with clients and internal team members as directed by senior staff
- Provide input on design challenges based on your calculations and analysis
- Take ownership of assigned tasks while knowing when to ask for guidance
- Support plan development (note: this role does not include signing or sealing plans)
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 6–12 months, you’ll be:
- Confidently completing assigned design and analysis tasks
- Contributing meaningfully to plan sets and project deliverables
- Building strong working relationships with project managers, designers, and field staff
- Developing a deeper understanding of construction and field coordination
What We’re Looking For
This role is a great fit for someone who is:
- Highly motivated and eager to learn
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
- Able to balance independent work with teamwork
- Curious, adaptable, and open to feedback

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and technical documents
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to develop skills in field inspection, documentation, and contractor coordination
- Ability to operate technical and computer equipment with provided training
