UREC is accepting applications for the following:
UREC Special Events Supervisor
The UREC Special Events Supervisor position is responsible for providing operational, facility, and event support for all special events & clients that reserve space within University Recreation Center, Belk Gym, Northeast Recreational Field Complex, and Hayes Field Complex. Members of this team will be trained to operate all four facilities and be the liaison between University Recreation and the client.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a currently enrolled student at UNC Charlotte in good academic standing
- Current or be able to obtain CPR, AED, and Standard First Aid certifications and Blood Borne Pathogen training
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others
- Willing to work morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours as scheduled
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must have general knowledge of all University Recreation programs
- Possess knowledge, ability, and skills to implement University Recreation department’s Emergency Action Plan
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent the University Recreation department in a professional manner at all times
- Act as a liaison between Student Staff and the University Recreation Professional Staff
- Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all University Recreation policies and procedures
- Supervise all event operations of UREC, Belk Gym, Northeast Recreational Field Complex (NRFC), and Hayes Field Complex as assigned
- Assist with providing cleanliness and facility maintenance as needed
- Make sound operational and personnel decisions based on established policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for participants and staff
- Attend weekly and trainings/seminars as needed
- Be prepared to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays, breaks, and as needed
- Thoroughly inspect the facility and report maintenance issues
- Demonstrate proficiency in First Aid, CPR, and AED skills
- Ensure the departmental Emergency Action Plan (EAP) is properly implemented as necessary
- Ability to set-up/take down facility equipment for programs and special events
- Assist with AV and technology needs as assigned
- Ensure all daily paperwork is complete and accurate
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned
- Communicate efficiently, effectively, and in a timely manner to all UREC employees
- Hold accountability of all UREC student employees
- Ensure special events run smoothly
- Enforce all policies and procedures set by University Recreation Staff
