Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Intern FLSA: Non-Exempt 
Department: Organizational Advancement & Development Reports to: Senior Manager of Volunteer Services
Position Purpose: The Volunteer Coordinator Intern helps foster the volunteer experience at Habitat Charlotte Region through communication and appreciation efforts. This position works closely with the Senior Manager of volunteer Services, the Volunteer Services team, and the Marketing and Communications team.

Essential Functions
• Maintain the volunteer@habitatcltregion.org and recruit@habitatcltregion.org email inboxes, respond to
general inquiries, and forward complex inquiries to appropriate staff members
• Interview and place new volunteers as needed
• Prepare supplies and communication for volunteer appreciation events
• Participate in other volunteer appreciation and retention efforts
• Represent Habitat Charlotte Region at community events
• Enter data about volunteers in Salesforce database
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Self-motivated with ability to work as part of group or individually
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Computer skills – Microsoft Office
• Work flexibly, primarily Wednesday-Saturday
• Reliable transportation
• Public speaking experience

Work Environment:
This position requires working primarily indoors in an office setting and driving between locations within the service area in all types of weather conditions.

Physical Demands
• Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time
• Ability to stand and walk construction job sites for several hours at a time
• Ability to list 20 lbs. with or without assistance
• Ability to operate a phone
