Job Description
Role Overview
The Insights & Strategy Navigator provides data-driven research and analysis support to founders and nonprofit partners. This student helps organizations move from assumptions to evidence — whether validating a startup idea with market research, analyzing customer data, or helping a nonprofit measure and communicate its program impact.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct primary and secondary market research including target market sizing, competitor landscapes, and industry trend analysis
- Build data dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, or Power BI to help founders and nonprofits track and present key metrics
- Support nonprofits in designing impact measurement frameworks and analyzing program outcome data for funder reports and board presentations
- Perform customer and community surveys, synthesize findings, and deliver actionable recommendations to founders
- Assist founders with pitch deck data validation ensuring market size claims, growth projections, and industry statistics are sourced and credible
- Research Charlotte-specific data including local economic development reports, demographic trends, and sector growth to inform founder strategy
- Analyze operational or sales data for CO-LAB members to surface trends, inefficiencies, or growth opportunities
Skills Sought
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with survey tools such as Qualtrics or Google Forms
- Strong analytical thinking with ability to translate data into clear narrative insights
- Familiarity with basic statistical analysis and research methodology
- Detail-oriented with strong written communication for presenting findings
