The mission of our Education Statistics team is to provide statistical evidence that is meaningful, timely, accurate, and trustworthy. The Intern can expect to work on projects centered around social studies standards. Responsibilities The responsibilities for the position include: Conduct literature reviews on current social studies issues and summarizing current research Assist staff in the review and identification of scholarly information describing research in the field of social studies Participate in the collection, analysis, and review of research and evaluation data Develop spreadsheets and databases focusing on the analysis of state social studies standards Analyze quantitative and qualitative research data and contribute to the reporting and interpretation of findings Qualifications Education, Knowledge, and Experience: Must be a current student (for the duration of the internship) enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in such fields as history, civics, geography, economics, psychology, sociology, public policy, or other social science related fields Knowledge of data collection and analysis methodologies and techniques, such as survey design, analysis of program administrative data, and conduct of structured interviews, observations, and focus groups Knowledgeable in using statistical software programs such as Nvivo, SPSS, or Stata to analyze data - a plus but not required Skills: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite or the equivalent (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software) Proficiency with Google products Excellent communic
