Job Description

The Division of University Advancement is seeking an enthusiastic and committed University Advancement Student Assistant to join our team. This student role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in philanthropy, donor engagement, data management, corporate partnerships, and event support while representing UNC Charlotte's fundraising and advancement initiatives.

As a University Advancement Student Assistant, you will work closely with staff across key division units—including Annual Giving, Prospect Strategy & Research, Corporate Engagement, Athletic Fundraising, Advancement Data Team, and Donor Relations. You will help foster positive relationships with alumni, donors, campus partners, and community members with operations that drive support for vital university programs and student scholarships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Annual Giving with campaign outreach, digital promotion, and stewardship efforts targeting students, alumni, and donors.
  • Collaborate with Prospect Strategy & Research to support data verification, research summaries, and tracking donor prospect pipelines.
  • Support Corporate Engagement in preparing event materials, tracking corporate partner touchpoints, and supporting industry engagement initiatives.
  • Work with Athletics to support donor communications, game-day/event stewardship logistics, and member outreach.
  • Assist with database maintenance, constituent record updates, and routine reporting tasks.
  • Assist in executing donor recognition programs, organizing stewardship mailings, and supporting event planning for university donors and alumni.
  • Assist with administrative duties and serve as a key resource for division projects.
  • Extend warm and welcoming engagement for all university stakeholders, visitors, and donors.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at UNC Charlotte.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with basic administrative software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and interest in learning advancement database software.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential donor data.
  • Interest in fundraising, non-profit management, event planning, data analytics, or community outreach is a plus.
