Position Overview
The Corporate Senior Sales Manager oversees corporate and non-profit event inquiries from initial engagement through post-event follow-up, qualifying leads, nurturing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and serving as a trusted industry professional. This role remains attuned to the Charlotte market to capture and develop opportunities, while consulting on menu design, event logistics, and service solutions aligned with client objectives, budgets, and Roots’ standards for quality and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Client Advisory
- Manage inbound and outbound corporate and non-profit event inquiries through Tripleseat, email, phone, or referrals
- Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, understanding event goals, timelines, and budgets to recommend menu, service, and experience solutions
- Host tastings, site visits, and walkthroughs to ensure client expectations are met and align Roots’ quality and operational standards
- Upsell food, beverage, rentals, third party services and service enhancements to elevate the guest experience while supporting business objectives
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and additional corporate events within booked accounts
Sales Operations & Execution
- Oversee the complete sales lifecycle including proposals, contracts, payments, event details, and post event follow up
- Deliver timely, professional, and solution oriented communication throughout the client experience while managing multiple events in a fast paced environment
- Maintain accurate communication and follow up through Tripleseat to ensure accountability
- Ensure contracts, logistics, and payments are completed two weeks prior to events, and proactively coordinate with culinary and operations for short turn events
- Collaborate closely with operations, culinary, venues, and vendors to ensure seamless event execution
- Attend or facilitate internal planning meetings sales to align on upcoming events and organizational priorities
- Determine when onsite presence is required for high touch or large-scale events to ensure flawless execution and client satisfaction
Business Development & Market Strategy
- Prospect and develop new corporate accounts while optimizing existing client relationships
- Build and maintain professional networks with corporate and non profit clients, venues, and vendor partners
- Stay aware of the Charlotte market, tracking emerging businesses and opportunities, and recognizing daily prospects to drive new business and expand relationships
- Represent Roots at networking, marketing, and industry events to strengthen brand presence, cultivate strategic relationships, and stay informed on market, competitor, and industry trends
Ideal Candidate
- Required Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in sales, preferably in hospitality
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients, events, and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
- Experience using CRM or event management systems (Tripleseat or similar)
- Ability to remain professional, calm, and solution-oriented in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to be onsite at events during occasional evenings or weekends
- Preferred Experience
- Experience with corporate & non profit event or catering sales
- Working knowledge of food & beverage service and event logistics
- Established relationships with venues, planners, and corporate clients

- Compensation includes an industry-competitive base salary, commission rates & event bonuses based on sales goals met. Range $75-90K annually, uncapped.
