The Internship
Position Summary:
Creative Services interns support graphic design and photography efforts for all Enrollment Management departments, including student recruitment, yield, enrollment, and retention initiatives. In this role, interns will work on high-exposure print and digital projects, reaching thousands of students and families throughout the year. Interns may also assist with photography and collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team on other content creation as needed.
Primary Job Duties:
- Design print materials and digital assets to support recruitment and enrollment efforts, meeting all internal visual standards.
- Develop and execute original design concepts in alignment with UNC Charlotte brand guidelines.
- Use the Adobe Creative Suite products to complete projects, including Illustrator and InDesign. Additional experience with Lightroom and Photoshop are preferred.
- Collaborate with campus partners and manage projects through the team’s project management system.
- Assist with the creation of custom illustrations and promotional items as needed.
- Assist with other content creation and creative efforts as needed to support the work of Enrollment Management.

- Apply foundational design principles on a range of print and digital projects
- Articulate design concepts, creative decision making, and feedback
- Develop a thorough knowledge of design and visual arts concepts, software and technologies
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including ideation, client communication, creative execution, delivery, and reflection
- Develop positive relationships with campus partners by listening, offering strategic suggestions, and responding to needs
- Gain experience using photo, video, and lighting equipment
- Represent your expertise to clients in select creative briefing meetings
- Collaborate effectively with professional staff and other student interns
Outcomes
Expected outcomes of the internship include...
- Completion of 40-50 creative projects across print, digital, and promotional mediums, resulting in 10-15k individual prints for target audiences.
- Participation in EPC-organized networking opportunities with other creative professionals across campus.
- Ability to clearly articulate design thinking, creative decision making, feedback, and results
- Strengthened professional identity and development of a unique point of view
- Development in all career competencies encouraged by the University Career Center, including critical thinking, communication, teamwork, technology, leadership, professionalism, self-development, and engagement across perspectives.
